Without being essential, the pool robot is a very practical accessory to help you clean your pool, especially if it is very large. The pool robot, automatic or not, allows you to clean the bottom of the pool effortlessly. Find out how it works.
The pool robot: what is it?
The pool robot is an automatic cleaning device that is used under the surface of the pool water. It mainly cleans the bottom of the pool, but can sometimes also be used on the walls. The pool robot is fully autonomous.
A pool robot is generally made up of a housing for the engine block, a suction system, rotating brushes and a handle for removing it from the water.
To operate your pool robot, you must supply it with electricity and immerse it in the pool water.
How a pool robot works
Most pool robots clean the bottom of the pool by brushing it, picking up impurities that are sucked in by the robot. It is therefore necessary to regularly clean it as well as the brushes to ensure a good lifespan for your robot.
There are several types of brushes for pool robots, suitable for each coating: foam brushes for smooth coating such as concrete, tiles or polyester shells; brushes with pins or blades for PVC.
The different types of pool robots
THE HYDRAULIC POOL ROBOT
It is the easiest to use and cheapest swimming pool robot. The hydraulic suction pool robot plugs into the pool filtration system. It therefore sucks up the impurities present on the bottom of the pool thanks to the action of the pool filter.
THE PRESSURE POOL ROBOT
The pressure robot sends high pressure water to the walls of the pool to be cleaned. It is connected to a discharge nozzle or to a booster.
THE INDEPENDENT POOL ROBOT
The autonomous pool robot operates independently of the pool filtration system. It can be remote controlled or programmable.
